Secret Restaurant Recipes finally revealed in America's Secret Recipes

What are some ways to make steak flavorful?

This is about any large chunk of meat really: salmon, beef, burger. I realize one can easily add sauce on top of the meat, but what I really want to know is what to put in the meat and how to cook it so that you get the flavor from the inside, especially before you cook it. This is so that you wouldn’t have to just add the sauce on the top. When this happens, I often don’t find that the sauce and the meat blend very well. The result is still a tasteless slab meat.

Always season the meat with salt & pepper then maybe add chilli flakes, garlic, chinese five spice, herbs or anything that takes you fancy, just don’t go to heavy especially on salmon!

  • Nicole:

marinade it. put it in a container with homeade or store bought marinade and make sure its a vaccuum seal container then leave it for a while and when youre ready to cook it take it out. works really well. my dad makes steak like this and i love it

  • Dune:

I like to salt it and then brown it and whatever juices I have left I make a pan gravy.
The light salting is what brings out the flavours.
Most marinades will use sauces etc that add salt.

Sweet soy is a nice one if you want to try that one.

You can wrap the meat in foil and cook it slowly with your favorite flavorings – garlic, onions, and spices to seep in. If you slow cook the meat, this works out really well. You can also use marinade, Worcestershire, wine, and other liquids in the wrapping to add even more flavor. Use caution if you choose alcohol with higher percentage content – there is always the possibility of starting a fire.

I use hints (small amounts) of spices. This usually works out the same way as adding a small amount of sugar can bring out the flavor of coffee and tea.

  • Cowgirl_Power:

For beef, season only with salt and pepper. Possibly a little worcestershire.

Let the seasonings sit on the meat for at least 30 min before hand.

    Then don’t over cook.

  • JubJub:

Marinate in soy sauce with chopped scallions, garlic and onion powder.
